Dennis Slavens - Senior Pastor

Pastor Slavens arrived at Antioch Church in 1976, equipped with a vision to win the lost and heal the hurting.  Under his leadership Antioch has grown from about 75 in attendance to approximately 3,000 weekly.  His mission is to help people develop a personal, intimate relationship with God and to discover their God-given gifts and abilities.  The teaching closest to his heart is learning to live in the kingdom and all that it entails.  With his wife Rhonda, they have overseen extraordinary changes at Antioch from a small neighborhood church to a vibrant and diverse community of believers.  He travels throughout the U.S. and abroad speaking in services, conferences and leadership meetings.  There is a desire in him to see young pastor's mentored and discipled.  He is a man that considers integrity and good character among his greatest assets and orders his life to keep both in tact.  They are blessed with 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.

Ryan Slavens - Executive Director of Operations
 

Joining the Leadership Team in 2000, Ryan Slavens is the Executive Director overseeing all church operations and the staff. His desire is to be all God has created him to be and simply do what He asks him to do. Ryan’s main purpose is to help the church staff operate at its maximum potential. He attended Johnson County Community College with a focus on Business Administration. His mission is to value, possess, and develop integrity in himself and others. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three kids.

Kerry Murphy - Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries

Kerry Murphy is the Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries. Since arriving at Antioch in 1996 he has implemented our Life Development track: Membership 101, Maturity 201, and Ministry 301. He also launched House of Hope, a ministry of support and growth to help people get free of life controlling issues. His responsibilities include Life Strategies classes, Alpha, Altar Ministry, Small Groups, Hospitality, Follow-up, Men’s and Singles ministries. He and his wife, Linda, have a deep passion to see hurting people healed spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Prior to coming to Antioch he was a denominational State Youth Director and Evangelist for three years and a Senior Pastor for eighteen years in Kentucky. They have two children and two grandchildren. Kerry has a pastor’s heart and his life message is helping people discover God’s best and live it.

Kevin Seaton - 
Worship & Creative Arts Pastor

Kevin Seaton is the Worship & Creative Arts Pastor overseeing musicians, vocalists, dance and drama, as well as recruitment and training for these areas. He and his wife, Janet, have a passion and a zeal for raising up new worship leaders, mentoring the next generation, and promoting the power of the local church.  He has produced and directed three worship albums, taught worship in schools, and led worship for conferences and retreats across America and Europe.  Kevin has earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Lee University and lives by the mission statement, “Make something out of nothing!” Since 1999, Kevin and Janet have built a thriving and growing community of worshipers at Antioch Church. They enjoy life with their two daughters and live real and true to the Word.

Elton Wells - Children's Pastors

Elton and Gail Wells are the Children’s Pastors responsible for nursery through sixth grade. They oversee multiple weekly services, Life Strategies classes, and volunteers, in addition to other special events for children like Fall Festival, Vacation Bible School, Special Needs Enrichment, children’s camp, and mission trips. Their vision is that children be about the Father’s business growing in wisdom and favor with God. Before coming to Antioch they taught children’s classes at Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa and have twenty years of diverse children’s ministry experience. Elton has an Associate’s Degree in Business from Tulsa Community College and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center. Gail has earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center. They have five kids and have taught them to be sensitive to the needs of others and that doing ministry is for all age groups.

Bill Kirkpatrick - 
Student Ministries Pastor

Bill Kirkpatrick is the Student Ministries Pastor responsible for equipping teenagers with the scriptural and moral convictions necessary to stand against and overcome the pressure of today’s society. He and his wife, Lori, have been envisioned and impassioned by God to reach this generation. In addition, they direct Antioch’s Annual Student Conference, lead special days, oversee small group projects, lead mission trips, travel preaching, and do consulting work. Bill attended Evangel College where he majored in Biblical Studies and Minored in Business Management. Since arriving at Antioch in 1993 they have exemplified a passion for their local church and willingly serve in any way to help it become what God destined it to be in the community. With their kids they are committed to serving Antioch Church and Pastor Slavens.

David Blackford - Jr. High Pastor

David Blackford is the Junior High Pastor and Associate Student Ministries Director. He leads the weekly junior high service, teaches classes, and assists in all student ministry activities such as retreats, mission trips, and Antioch’s Annual Student Conference. He and his wife, Julia, desire is to help those in junior high make true life changes and serve Pastor Slavens and Antioch Church in fulfilling the church’s calling. His personal mission is to bring encouragement, hope, and purpose through Jesus Christ. David had three years of training in Master’s Commission and one year as an intern for Antioch Student Ministries before coming on staff in 2002. He is currently furthering his education through West Coast Online Bible College. With their two sons, David and Julia are faithful to their call and dedicated to serving and loving people.

Chris Hamlin - 
Assistant Worship Pastor and Director of The Mix

Chris Hamlin is the Assistant Worship Pastor and Director of The Mix. He desires to see the church be all it is intended to be and demonstrate that Jesus is the reason for life and the only way to overcome. Currently he leads worship for Paradigm Student Ministries, assists in leading for the weekend adult services, and directs the 20-somethings service and events. He spent three years in Master’s Commission Kansas City where he traveled extensively and discovered his worship calling. He is continuing his education online with West Coast Online Bible College. He and his wife, Rebecca, live to help ordinary people get connected with the true picture of our amazing Savior, Jesus Christ. They have a daughter and are seeking new and relevant ways to effect and challenge people where they are.

Lee and Karla Blake - MC Directors

Lee and Karla Blake are the Master’s Commission Directors.  Master’s is a ten month discipleship ministry that individuals from around the country attend each year.  Not only do they oversee and schedule all the participants they have incorporated numerous ministries to help provide opportunities to discover their call and destiny in life.  Both received their training from Pastor Lloyd Zeigler at Master’s Commission USA, the original program at Phoenix First Assembly, under Pastor Tommy Barnett.  They spent ten years in Phoenix and received training in all aspects of the ministry there before coming to Antioch to direct MCKC.  Their desire is to see each individual realize and reach their full potential in their relationship with God and people. They have two kids and simply want to serve others and make a difference.

Jimmy Ybarra - Pastor of Hispanic Ministries 

Jimmy Ybarra is the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries. He leads a weekly service, oversees all volunteers, outreaches and ministries to the Hispanic people for Antioch. He also has a full-time job with the Kansas City, Kansas School District as an English Language Learning Instructor. He and his wife, Debbie, have a vision to reach out to the whole spectrum of Hispanic culture and elevate the awareness of God’s Kingdom in that community. Their goal is to disciple and equip all their members – especially those who will eventually return to their native countries with the power and tools to evangelize their own respective lands. They have two children and 5 grandchildren. They are praying for wisdom and leadership to reach into every area of the Hispanic community.

DeLand Shore is the Business Administrator, overseeing the church’s accounting functions, personnel administration, and legal compliance among other things. He also provides financial and money management counseling through the church and coordinates various stewardship education and financial literacy efforts. In all he does, his purpose is to model, share, and engage truth in others who are ready to reach for their potential. DeLand earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law. After interning for a missions organization, DeLand joined the Antioch staff in 2002. DeLand and his amazing wife, Carrie, have four children and are committed to living their lives in order of the “Top 5” priorities in life – God, spouse, kids, church, and work – and to keeping life as simple as possible in a complex world.
