Prayer Focus: Connect/Salvations
As I was reading EM Bounds book “The Weapon of Prayer” this week, a picture began to be painted in my mind. When you hook a trailer to a vehicle it takes a few steps. The initial is the trailer being attached, much like the step of accepting Christ as Savior. You can move the trailer but you must move slow and not have any adverse conditions. Like the time a group was headed out, the trailer wasn’t attached correctly and the minute they hit the curvy roads the trailer was lost. We are like that we connect through salvation, but if we don’t add the additional safety precautions we could get disconnected. We need to also add the safety chains of Prayer, the Word and the local church that help us grow and mature. When these begin to happen we realize we are part of Christ’s body and that we have abilities and gifts that the people around us need.
Romans 12:4-6 (NLT)
4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
Then lastly you attach the power cable that provides you with the power and wisdom to affect those around you. As you work in unity with Christ your example begins to give direction to those that are lost around you. As it has been said you may be the only Jesus some people ever see! What signals are you giving off? Is your example one that is worth following? If your not sure spend some time in prayer today and ask God to help you be a better example that you might lead your neighbor to Christ!
Luke 19:10 “The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost” Our prayer focus today is for people to find salvation like never before in 2012. That record numbers would be saved and connected to the body of Christ at Antioch.

Prayer Focus: Being Thankful
Welcome to day 18! We are almost there and you are doing great! Don’t worry if you’ve slipped up here and there. You’re human!! Let’s just finish strong. Today’s focused prayer is on having a spirit of praise or thankfulness. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Give thanks in ALL circumstances. Hmmm…that means in everything, no matter what, there is always something you can give thanks for. We have taught this verse in the kids department, but I feel like us adults need to be reminded that life isn’t always easy and sometimes it’s no fun at all, but the Bible says to ALWAYS be thankful. So, today find something to be thankful about and think on those things.

Day 17
Prayer Focus: The Rising
Matthew 5:1-2 When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions.
2012 Prayer & Fasting – Day 16
Day 16
Prayer Focus: Financial Peace
I am a doer. I like to produce. I want the stuff I do to matter. I want it to bring glory to God. And according to John 15:8, producing, or bearing, much fruit does just that – brings great glory to God. It is a life goal.
That is one of the reasons I refer regularly to 2 Peter 1:3-8. It says:
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This verse tells me that He has given me everything I need for a godly life,. and then it provides a nearly mathematical equation for being productive and effective.
Find yourself in this verse. Where are you today? What is the next step you need to take, or add in your life? And it is a continuing equation. The journey is the destination.
This is Day 16 in the fast, so perhaps you have been grouchy and need to add some goodness. Maybe it’s the perseverance to finish strong that you lack. Or how about this one: if you insert your name for the word, “love” in 1 Corinthians 13, does it describe you? I have a long ways to go on that one.
Our prayer focus today is Financial Peace University.
I love FPU because doing the stuff it teaches works – it produces much fruit, and I believe that brings great glory to God. I hope you have joined us on this 13-week journey that will literally change your life! If you haven’t, get in and get started. It’s not too late.
Pray for this effort in our church and our 2012 theme of Financial Peace to bear much fruit and bring glory to God. Pray for those of us going through Financial Peace University. Pray that we would possess each of the 1 Peter 1:3-8 qualities in increasing measure. I can tell you that to win with money and to win in life; to grow and produce fruit in your relationship with God; to bring glory to Him; it takes each of these qualities and in increasing measure.
2012 Prayer & Fasting – Day 15
Day 15
We only have 6 days left!! I hope you are hanging in there with us. Don’t give up now! Has someone ever said to you “You worry to much”?
Do you know that worry does not come from God it comes from Satan and it is often referred to as stress. Proverbs 12 tells us “worrying weighs a person down”
Actually worrying is a SIN. God commands us not to do it. Matt 6:31 tells us “Therefore do not worry”. Like a road sign that says Do Not Enter. It is letting us know it is not an area where we belong.
So, what do we do with our concerns, where do we go with them?I Peter 5 tells us to “Give ALL your cares to God for He cares for you.”All means All….No Exceptions! God is not going to take our cares, we have to give them to Him. It is an act of faith. Then we replace our worry with the Word of GodFinancial worries….”My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory. “
Healing worries….”By His stripes I am healed” We are to “cast down every thought and imagination that comes against the knowledge of Christ.”
So when worry wants to consume us we take authority over it with the Word of God. Phil 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.” Encourage you as you have spent these last 2 weeks praying and asking for your needs, Go to the finish line with thanksgiving in your heart for He has done and all He has promised to do.
