2012 Prayer & Fasting – Day 21

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

vs. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

Well, the 21-day journey has come to an end. Many of you feel like you are on top of the world Spiritually, physically and mentally. The key now is to keep this feeling going. Don’t get sucked back into old habits, old lifestyles, old way of doing things. Your minds have been renewed over the last 21-days, therefore we are in the process of transforming into someone better! Some have been hearing God’s voice so clearly, why change that now? Some of you have begun a transformation of a new way of doing “life.” God is with you. He is on your side. He is and will be at work on your behalf!

Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

My biggest prayer for you today, day 21 of this fast, is that as you move forward from here and to not let anything stand in your way or hinder you from drawing closer to Him. If you have started some new habits that are pleasing to Him…keep it up! Don’t let the last 21-days simply be a “good season” of time, but allow the last 21-days to be the start of a new lifestyle!

God is on your side and so are we! We love you and we’ll see you this weekend at Antioch Church! Bring a friend!

Psalm 33:11 - The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

Psalm 33:12 - Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

PRAYER…one simple word, but a word that is in desperate need of being played out in our Nation today. I am still the belief that the United States is still the best country in the world!

Foundationally this country was built on Godly principles. Over time what the “founding father’s” envisioned for this country has slowly and gradually faded from what the U.S. was founded upon. Many would say times are different today and I would agree. However, although the “methods” of how a country is operated may change over time, the biggest problem we face today is that this country has gotten away from the “message” of why and how we got started in the first place.

In order to see the above verse, Psalm 33:12, play out, it will take 2 very important things:

1) good, Christian people standing up an simply voting our heart. The numbers are staggering of people who do not vote. If we are passionate about seeing a Nation turn back to God, if we do nothing else, at least our response should be to get out and vote. When we vote, we should simply vote our heart. Do your homework, do some research on who you are voting for. Let me be clear, this is not a “party” (republican/democratic) push; it is nothing more than for us to simply vote our heart with good, Christian morals in mind when we punch that ballot. I believe we have a huge responsibility as Christians to do our part in voting and we CAN make a difference if we get out there and do our part.

This will preach now…hahaha…ok, I will leave you with this now.

2) PRAYER – The Prayer Thought for today is to focus on our Nation. Pray for our leaders who hold office. Pray for our city leaders, state, government, president and vice president. Pray Psalm 33:12 over this Nation today.

Matthew 11:28 - Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:29 - Take my yoke (His way of doing things) upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:29 (AMP) - Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart,

and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

You may find yourself in a high-pressured situation today, you may be carrying a heavy load, or a heavy burden. If you are, there is nothing more important you can do than to stop, find some time today to be still and simply listen to what He is saying to you today. As Cindy stated in yesterdays video, we have to be that Mary in a Martha world
