Focused Purpose

The mission of Covenant Marriage Ministry is to ensure that “No Marriage is Left Behind.” We work towards this assignment by seeking God’s plan for covenant marriage, equipping couples to apply Biblical knowledge to their marriage relationships. The belief that marriage is a lifelong journey intended to make couples holy and mature is a foundational principle of the ministry.

N.A.M.E.The National Association of Marriage Enhancement (N.A.M.E.) ministry was founded by Dr. Leo Godzich. Dr. Godzich and his wife, Molly, impact marriages nationally and internationally as sought after conference speakers, hosts of their annual International Marriage Conference, integral involvement with changes in marriage legislation, and networking churches and couples committed to Biblical marriage ministry.

The Covenant Marriage Ministry at Antioch is proud to offer as one of the vital parts of the ministry a NAME Center. Through NAME, lay couples complete an intensive Biblical training program which certifies them to perform Biblical pre-marital and marital counseling. Certified Marriage Specialist offer counseling to couples in the Antioch Church family and the community. Some of the unique aspects of the counseling include utilizing a Biblical format, offering a relaxed environment, couple-to-couple meetings, confidentiality, and counseling offered as a ministry without charge, with the occasional exception of materials.

NAME counseling is offered to married couples at Antioch Church and the community. Counseling requests span the gamut from crisis situations to marriage “tune-ups.” Covenant Marriage Ministry desires to remove the stigma sometimes attached to counseling and redefine it as coaching. All marriages face issues that can be improved by seeking the Word of God with a trained couple. Appointments are made on an individual basis. If you desire to speak with the NAME Director to obtain more information or set an appointment, please contact Antioch Church office at (913) 432-4300 or fill out this form to email us directly.

Counseling for engaged couples is required for those who will be married at Antioch Church. Pre-marital counseling is offered to those couples, and strongly encouraged for others in the church or community who plan to be married. Preparation for marriage entails more than preparation for a ceremony, but planning for the journey. Couples are led through the Bible-based curriculum Preparing for the Covenant of Marriage, which assists them in communicating About and working through issues that will help build a strong foundation for the relationship. A small fee is required for the workbook. Engaged couples are strongly encouraged to plan for pre-marital counseling a least six months before the wedding date, if possible. If you desire to be married at Antioch Church or by one of the Pastors, please contact the Antioch Church office, (913) 432-4300 or fill out this form to email us directly.

LIFE GROUPS

Another great way grow together in marriage is through Antioch Church Life Groups. We highly encourage every couple to get connected to a Life Group as a part of their spiritual growth and discipleship process. Antioch Life Groups provide the opportunity for married couples to meet consistently with several other couples on a biweekly basis for the purpose of forging deepened relationships and spiritual growth.

INTIMATE ENCOUNTERS

Intimate Encounter groups offer six- to eight- week topical studies directly focused on marriage issues. The studies are designed for marriage help and enrichment by offering Biblically-based studies in a relaxed small group environment. The only cost to couples is for materials. Watch for future dates for the next Intimate Encounter Group.

Focused Encouragement

Covenant Marriage Ministry endeavors to provide a variety of events through the year. Events are designed for encouragement, fellowship opportunities, and the empowerment of marriages with practical tools.
