The Cause

RunFor1 2016 Recap from Antioch Church on Vimeo.

For our 4th annual RunFor1 5K we will be supporting two Kansas City based organizations, Exodus Cry and Restoration House.

For the past 8 years, Exodus Cry has been focusing on the abolition of human trafficking both locally and globally, and raising awareness about this injustice.

Restoration House is a local home that is dedicated to providing a safe living environment, counseling, and restoration for victims of trafficking.

All funds raised through registration, sponsorships, and donations will go to fund their efforts in rescuing, protecting and counseling women who have been trafficked both locally and internationally.

Learn about Exodus Cry

Exodus Cry is built on a foundation of prayer and is committed to abolishing sex slavery through Christ-centered prevention, intervention, and holistic restoration for trafficking victims.

Prevention: Our Prevention efforts focus on eradicating sex trafficking at its root causes and addressing the societal factors that allow slavery to exist. We seek to stop this injustice before it starts so that the victimization of women and children all over the world is eliminated. We focus our prevention efforts on three main areas: mobilizing prayer, raising awareness, and advocating for domestic and international legal reform.

Intervention: Exodus Cry Intervention exists as a light in the dark places where sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation occur. The goal is to locate victims and to provide avenues of escape for those who are trapped and want a way out. Our intervention efforts occur in the Kansas City Metro area, across the United States, and around the world.

Restoration: Our Restoration work uses a holistic approach to care for victims. Our goal is to see each woman restored physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and to walk alongside her in the intricate process of rebuilding a life. This journey takes place within our Exodus Cry community and in our safe homes, called LightHouses
Services we provide in our aftercare program include: housing, trauma therapy, medical and dental care, legal counsel and advocacy, life and job skills training, education and employment opportunities, spiritual discipleship, personal development activities, and establishment of long-term support systems.

Film: At Exodus Cry, we produce films that expose modern-day sex slavery and promote its eradication. The stories we tell as a culture shape and define our world. It is critical that we harness the power of creative media to tell stories that align our hearts with truth.

Restoration House of Greater Kansas City is a faith based, long-term, residential program for survivors of sex trafficking.

At Restoration House of Greater Kansas City, we believe in empowering victims of sex trafficking through the healing and recovery process. Our holistic restoration program focuses on healing survivors from the indignities they have suffered by providing physical needs, trauma and addiction therapy, as well as education and job skill training. We seek to provide a house of restoration for survivors as they heal, and provide the resources they need to recover and live fulfilling lives without the pain and fear they have experienced for so long.
